Personal Credo:
YOU must be the change you wish
to see in the world. -Gandhi
My Mission:
Helping you live your life in fulfillment
of your hopes and dreams by being a guide, a
partner in the process, and encouraging you with
enthusiasm.
I’ve been coaching for a long time in various
forms. I began my career as an estate-planning
attorney and have been practicing for over 20
years, the last fifteen from my home. I’ve
been a motivational speaker for over 15 years
and this has naturally progressed into life coaching.
I’m also a published writer and author.
I serve as an instructor in finance and estate
planning.
I’ve recognized that life coaching
is my passion and that helping people move forward
is what I do best.

Merrilee
has been the person I know I could turn
to for a 'jump start'. Many times when
I have felt stumped or unsure I have
talked to Merrilee. I know she'll understand
where I'm coming from, what I need and
help me do what it takes to get going
again. The thing that helps so much is
that I know she is in my corner and just
that has helped me a lot.

I
grew up in the Detroit, Michigan area. I
graduated with High Honors from Brigham Young
University
with a degree in Business Management / Finance
and was a summa cum laude graduate from University
of Santa Clara Law School. I passed the California
State Bar exam in 1985.
I’ve been married for 24 fantastic
years to my husband, Steve. He is my best
friend
and my greatest supporter and I feel blessed
to have
him by my side. We are raising four sons
ages 13 to 22 which means we have a very
loud house
with three teen-age sons at home! Our family
is active in the community and, well--just
plain active! One
of the things I’m passionate about
is community service. I believe that
we are not truly happy until we are giving
back to others, especially the young
and the needy.
My
current activities include:
- Board
of Directors and Public Spokeswoman for
the Boy Scout Desert Pacific Council,
- Vice
President of the local chapter of Mothers
Without Borders (which does international
orphan charity work) and National Board
member
- Community
Chairman of the Boys and Girls Club of
Poway
- Member
of City of Poway Committees – Budget
Advisory Committee and Parks and Rec Advisory
Committee
- Vice
President of the Poway Unified School District
Foundation
- Chair
of Informed Parents of Poway Unified School
District
- Rotary
Club of Poway
- Poway
Chamber of Commerce member
- Candidate
for Poway City Council
I know, I know. That’s
a little crazy.
But I love being involved in many great things at once.
I truly believe that we have to keep fun
in the mix so I love doing lots of different
things.
My favorites include reading (especially “guy” books
and sci-fi), camping, talking, eating out
and riding my motorcycle, which still freaks
out
my kids.
Who I am –
Those who know me best know that my faith
guides my life. I am deeply religious and
high moral
values are incredibly important to me and
give guidance and value to my life every
day. I’m
also an absolute ferocious momma-bear mom to
my kids who are so cool. I have to admit I am
a bit weird. I have a wicked sense of humor.
I consider it great fun to blaze a new path and
try new things. Love and warm relationships with
my family and my friends blanket my life. And
I’m absolutely driven when it comes to
standing up for what’s right and
working as hard as I can to help those
who need help.

My Outlook on Coaching
Quite
simply, coaching is who I am. If you distill
it down to
its elements,
coaching involves
helping others, caring about
them, having the gifts and knowledge
to be able to help them,
and believing to your core
that people are capable of great things.
That
is my driving
passion in life.
You know at a certain point
in your life, it all clicks.
You
realize that all your
experiences,
beliefs, education, and insights
have led you to this one point.
That
is
how I feel
about
life coaching. The scriptures
refer to it as “fulfilling
the measure of your creation” and that’s
exactly how I feel about coaching.
I believe that people have
incredible potential. Often
they just need
help to focus their
goals and efforts. I love to
be there for them, to
help guide along the path,
to be the encouragement they
need
to
translate those hopes into
action. Nothing means more
to me than
hearing them
say, “You have changed
my life!”
At the core of every person is
a spirit of limitless ability.
Together,
we
can wake-up
that spirit!
I love coaching because it
exemplifies our purpose in
life – Do
unto others as you would have
them do
unto you. So
many
people
have helped me. How could I not help
others? Are
you ready and willing to take ACTION?
Are you ready to MOVE FORWARD?
Today
is the day!
